mostly after Plynkes Elke I think!

Couldnt find anythign on that.
I did however find this link. http://www.german-navy.de/hochseeflotte/index.html     :-)

Grimm

"Plynkes´ Elke" refers to the most excellent and hilarious games posted by our much-esteemed Plynkes on his blog. "Elke" was a German *ship class that most befits the scenario*, herself being named after actress Elke Sommer.

You can find the game reports over here:

The Elke is a merchantman (previously called the Prinzessin Charlotte) converted into a Commerce Raider in the Great War.

But by removing the guns, and changing her flag she became...

The S.S. Denture, shabby tramp steamer that conveyed our Pulp adventurers...

...to Big Monkey Island, where they got up to all sorts of exploits. It's all on the blog somewhere.

Argsilverson's baby is clearly much more beautiful than my tub (which I must admit, I didn't actually build myself anyway), but I'm glad if I had some small part in inspiring her creation.  :)

thanks Plynkes. Yours is actually an inspiration to me. even the colour scheme is of yours.

However I must again advise you that I have not actually built it.
George Pistof did that for me. George is a professional model maker and painter of miniatures. He does that for living. I hope to portray some more of his work in a future thread in other adventures board, to show you his remarkable work creating a diorame with several hundreds of painted miniatures, depicting the walls of Constantinople. A diorama commissioned by Athens war museum. In fact I am waiting for some photos from him!

Great model.  :-* :-*  Nice crew and weaponry.
I get extremely jealous of all you people with these great ships. Every time I see one it nudges we closer and closer to trying my hand at my own.

Wow, Arg' ! You rarely post pics, but you should more often : they are lovely  :-*

She's nice, but that's not really the point: what I appreciate most is the fact that you have succeeded in shrinking the length (for tabletop use), at the same time making sure figures can be placed nearly all over the ship AND maintaining a convincing look.

Can't say better  ;) All the details reflect the attention you have for her.

And about the names, Dorothea is nice ( without the pomp  :) )

Thanks all for your kind comments.

Something I forgot:
The admiral, sitting at his map table is inside the bridge cabin!
Bridge cabin has wheel, voice pipes, compass [alas non working!] analogue meteorological displays [actually printed on paper] and telegraph. She lacks a helmsman, trying to locate a suitable figure.

My future plans includes: to enrich her with more fittings like: a/a mg , shells and cartridges, life boats, firefighting hoses and hydrants in red, food lockers.

If it is difficult maybe a new vessel will appear. [my plans include 4-5 more vessels to compliment my  "Hochseeflotte"]. I suppose that can be also used for some pulp era adventures, either armed or unarmed.
