I'm planning on trying to make one this summer.

Goood i'm looking forward to see this  :-*

Lower class in the same style as these I would think, but mainly would travel on horse?

I am wondering if they could afford them more than a horse to pull a charette...

Anyway i was indeed thinking about upper class, as in our medieval adventures we also play with noble civilians how needs to travel.

Beautiful conversions and painting!

Yes, it seems rather logical: simple wagons with some structure added on the top for an awning, and more comfort inside. I also notice the two horses in line. Thanks for the pic.
