I've managed to snare one of these for a very decent price on eBay. It is however, to put it politely, a bitch of a kit.  The wings and tail components do not have any pins or sockets to attach, and given the large weight/area of the wings, this is proving, ahem 'difficult' to build.  Do any of you genius folk have any suggestions how to get this to work.  It's too lovely looking plane to leave unmade.

I guess you're going to have to supply your own pins and sockets. Depending on the weight they need to support, anything from steel dressmakers' pins up to woodworkers' panel pins could do the job.

Also, if you're going to rig it, if the landing wires are properly anchored they should give the flight surfaces the support they were actually designed for.

Brass rod. Struts and bracing wires. Drill, glue, insert. Won't be an IPMS winner bbut will hold up better as a gaming item.

Old Glory make spears of stiff steel. You could cut to size, use a Dremel or similar drill to put small holes in wing or fuselage and glue. Alternatively, steel pins are cheap, or if your wife/mother/sister/girlfriend has any to spare half a dozen would work.
They are a lot thinner than the Old Glory spears. It depends on how thin the wings are. I would also take some extra sprue material flattened if necessary and glued to the inside of the fuselage to give support to the pins. The fuselage being usually pretty thin. This will give your drill hole and pin a little more for support.

Great idea about reinforcing the fuselage. The wings (and even more so the tail) is very thin. This will help. Top tips everyone. Thank you!
