Wow, your kids have a kick ass father!

LOL thx styx

My wife tells me I am a big kid at heart.

I have pretty much changed all of my gaming styles/games/hobbies/interests to be foucsed around my kids.

When I look at a game that are in a gaming stores [which is not often as they are 45 minutes to 2 hours drive away.] or potential games on Kickstarter I now have to think about it more and ask myself "Can I play that with my kids?"

It was hard at first but with each year rolling by its getting easier to do and find games.

We play:
Zombicide
X-wing
Boss Monster

Will be playing soon:
Supersystem3 [once I get the stats done]
Incursion [once March 2014 arrives we will be all over this game]
Star Wars game [need to find rules for my kids got minis no rules]
Star Trek Attack Wing [will get this either latter in the year or early next year. hoping the borg comes into it]

As the kids get older we will expand on the games and my range will grow to more complicated gaming systems.

the Lad will be 6 next year and the Daughter will be 8.
So if you haven't figured it out we are all Geeks [even the wife plays Zombicide.]

Now THAT is what I'm talking about. Love the giant models.

I have a character I am working on, Myth, that is a shape changer themed around mythology, so she can shape change into a giant (D&D mini), a pegasus (Probably Bones), a dragon (dinosaur from the local toy store), and maybe Medusa (probably another Bones mini).

It's just plain fun.
The only thing better than gaming... is more gaming!

I like the paint theming you've done on your team. What's the story / motivation behind it?

My Son wants Reptil but I can't find a mini to represent him.. the various dinosaurs wouldn't be to hard to find. I just need to find a kid mini that would suit the character.

I would like to make a hero that has giant status and can duplicate themselves.

but how many copies would I need to have? 3, 5, 10 or even 15 copies?

my Villains back story has changed:

================================================

Dr Neil Kradosh was a brialliant scientist and a leader in the field of bio-tech. The fusing of man and machine. Dr Kradosh had approached Tony Stark regarding one of his projects the ability to transfer one humans consciousness to that of an artificial brain. The risks were to high and the applications of the procedure was not clear. Unbeknown to Tony , Kradosh's daughter Sarah was suffering from the effects of the N-14X virus. This very virus was Dr Kradosh's creation it was designed to attack a computer systems of an enemy state and kill their networks, communications, and infrastructures but it failed and the scientist made the decision to destroy his very own life's work. But the computer virus had not failed it had merely gone beyond its programming, it had adapted and it did not want to do what it was programmed to do, nor did it wish to have it existence ended. It was then that the virus entered into the Bio-tech Lab and merged with a living cell becoming both a computer and biological virus. With this new found power it infected Sarah while she was trying to erasse the N-14X programme.

The Doctor was able to kill the virus using his safety protocol but not before his daughter was taken over by the entity. Sarah's body began to mutate as the N-14X virus altered her very DNA into some thing new. Dr Kradosh was able to slow down its insidious advancement but not eradicate it. He began to make a artificial brain one that his daughter's very essence could be transferred to until he could find a cure. But He needed more funds to get the tech to finish it and Tony Stark was his last chance to get this done. It had been with a heavy heart he had told his daughter that he could not do it.

The virus had taken over 80% of her body, in a desperate attempt to save her he started the process but instead of an artificial brain he transferred her into the computer network in the lab. Cutting it close he completed the process just as the virus fully took over the her body. He knew he could never allow the virus out of the lab, in the ensuing battle he injected a deadly compound into his daughter killing her. He then activated the labs destruct sequence after he had secured the hard drive in a underground bunker which protected it from the proceeding explosion which vaporised the abandoned town of Richmond.

Sarah came back online after the hard drive had been found by S.H.I.E.L.D's clean up crew and then passed onto Tony Stark to investigate. Once the hard drive had been connected Sarah began to feel again, see again, the first thing she saw was Tony Stark.
He was very interested in seeing Dr Kardosh's work. Pushed to her very limits with the treatment used to destroy the N-14X virus, the process of transferring her mind and the death of her father and now the gloating face of the man that could have saved her and her father was to much. She stretched out her senses finding new files, connections, pathways and eventually she found what she was looking for. The data base of the Iron man suits, enemy suits that Iron man had defeated or had been given the tech and data from S.H.I.E.L.D.

Using one of the many labs with in Stark Towers, Sarah set about making her revenge real.
She skimmed through the various suits and settled on the Warmachine, Crimson Dynamo, Warmonger, Iron man, and the MkV Sentinel. Sarah was also able to fashion a new body for her mind to live in. Using Tony Stark's computer's she fashioned it out of rare substance that had been found on Asteroid Gama3. Once created she used her father's knowledge to reverse the process and transfered herself into it. Once in her body she found she had amazing powers enhanced control over computers, robotic systems, could absorb any type of energy and use it, she could now fly, and become non-corporeal.

She was interrupted by Iron Man in the process of making more soldiers. In the battle that followed she infected his suit and was able to stop him dead in his tracks. She would have had her revenge if not for the intervention of the superheroes Vision, Wolverine, Jubilee,Cyclops, Jewel, The White Queen, and P.E.A.R.L [Primate.Evolutionary.Alien.Regenerative.Lifeform] .To this day Tony Stark, and Vision have been working together to find ways of stopping Sarah and her army of infected suits and robots. Iron Man made a new group to fight her called the H.A.R.M [Heroes.Against.Robotic.Menaces].  Sarah sent Tony a message telling him Sarah was dead and that E.V.E [Electronic.Viral.Entity] was all that remained of her.
================================================

Still need to come up with the Heroes team name the kids haven't a clue what to call their group.

While cleaning the ceiling [wife's idea of fun during my days off "spring cleaning"]
I had a break through H.A.R.M the new Hero group. They are trying to prevent Harm to the population and this would be against any and all Robotic entities or armoured robotic suits. H.A.R.M has also recently recruited The Giant Man and Diamondback. Diamondback was investigating the Serpent Society who had been hired by E.V.E to kidnap the leading men and women in the fields of Robotics, Genetics, Bio-tech, and Computer science. Giant Man was also investigating these disappearances in particular a friend of his a Dr Barry Thorn one of the leaders in Biochemistry, Nano technology, Viral encoding, Computer Networking and Systems. Now H.A.R.M believe Dr Thorn was the last piece to the puzzle that E.V.E was building and what ever she is going to do will not be good...

Other super's are awaiting clearance are Reptil. more recruits will be coming...

More to come as the Data gets retrieved.

I went through my Bitz containers and box of left over metal or half done projects and pieced together this gang.

base coating will add more detail and ink washes tomorrow.

Uncle Sorrow, Lydia Demonkin , Fred the Demon, Demigog Doug, Alice the bloodchild.

Mike the Mulcher, Bernard the Bile, Kendric the Kruel, Garry the Gimp Demon, Eddie evilguy.

the gang <please insert name here> is going to be fun to play. here is a brief layout of the gang:

Lydia Demonkin:
Lydia was a mild mannered Librarian until she stumbled across an ancient book about demons being slightly naive she read the book aloud summoning a demon. In exchange for not killing her she let him posses her ex-boyfriend Fred. She has now joined the demonic clan and has gained demonic status. Her penchant for reading books and finding obscure titles has unlocked many new powers and portals to other realms. Thus giving her a high status with in the family.

Uncle Sorrow:
One time T.V personality for a cable channel Uncle Sorrow or as he was known back then as Karl Ubdernan fell on hard times when his show was cancelled. During his time on the show which was called Karl's Horrific collectors and collectables. [NB: its was about people collecting weird items and also themselves being a bit weird.]
Due to the lay off he had to sell his personal collection of weird items. The last piece he could not part with was a cloak as black as night and as shiny as a mirror. It was purely by accident that he found out his cloak could suck the soul out of anyone who came in contact with it [lucky for him the wearer was immune] once he got his first soul [Ned trafisker the old production manager for the T.V show] he had many offers from the Demons that lurked in the night. Any and all wishes were up for offer for his new collection. now his cloak swarms with the many souls he has bound to his cloak... each one emits a sorrowful moan hence why he is name Uncle Sorrow. His out world appearance is that of a "nice" uncle.

Alice the Bloodchild:
Alice grew up in a house of fanfic writers, her mum wrote fan-fic for what ever popular Vampire show, movie or book was hot. Her dad wrote fanfic for the Sci-fi scene and her older brother wrote slash for what ever he found that could give him the best "ship"
she loathed the three of them all hovering over their laptops each immersed in the seedy world of fanficdom. When they went to the many various "cons" she would wear her outfit of shame. a blood red cowled body suit so none of her friends would know what her family did. To get away from her families constant perverse obsessions she would head down to the local gun range, gymnasia, and Martial arts centre.  Alice Kopper died on a cold November night when her family erupted in a shipping war about a new Sci-fi vampire show that each of them was writing a fanfic about. Pushed to her limit she gunned them all down. She left Alice there in that cold house with three blooded bodies draped over their laptops. She is now Bloodchild  her mission is now simple all fanfic must be punished and has taken on the job of ridding this world of fanfic writers and their horrible stories. One story as a time.

Bernard the Bile:
Not much is known about Bernard except one thing that he was once a Cherub but his addiction to strip clubs, cheap whisky and gambling put him at odds with his employer so he was kicked out of Heaven. Nowadays all he does is spends his time visiting strip clubs and causing as much mayhem as he can. One particular time he sent a local youth choir into the Leather boys strip club and the Sisters of Mercy to a BDSM convention. To say that these two groups were effected was an understatement... some spent hours upon hours of pray trying to repent what they saw or did there. It was hushed up by the church but Bernard knows what happened he is currently trying to sell the rights to a cable channel.

well that's it for now will add more pics and bio's as I get them done.

S3 is a very good game, but might be a bit heavy for your little ones. I bought BASH (Basic Action Super Hero) Ultimate rules, originally an RPG but with very little work you have a fine skirmish system. Very easy rules and lots of options, I play it with my Heroclix collection which works fine for me.

Card buildings can look very nice on the table. They can be a bit heavy on print cartridges but I've done them myself and in addition, there are loads of free printies out there.

I have to say I love BASH--it's my go-to RPG when I run my Villain Mission Force Marvel 1980's style games.

I liked BASH as well, but thought it slightly limited in having only 1-5 in abilities, I am tinkering with my own system but have taken one bit from BASH, roll 2D6, but on a double you add another to the total, we'll see if it flies by the end of this month...  :D

By my quick math, yes!

You'll need to buy some Super for Garry, and as a Sidekick, none of his pools can be higher than 7D. Drop Force-Field to 4D in this case.

Hope this helps!

Thx Scott
Will adjust Garry

Next characters will be Demigog Doug and Fred the Demon.

I am thinking about making them vulnerable to holy attacks how would I go about doing that?

Well, you could apply the Only Versus power mod here, attaching it to the demon's Armor, Force-Field, etc., and say Only Versus Non-Holy Attacks.  Normally Only Versus provides a 50% break, but this is pretty specific, so I might apply only a 25% cost break, unless your campaign will be full of holy characters and weapons.

Hope this helps!

I might make the vulnerable to holy scenario driven.

Will do some more work on the cult today. Finally getting my  head around how to create SS3 characters. Will get two small teams made very shortly then give a game ago see how the kids find it.

Should have four factions made in the coming weeks.

I have done some paper buildings quite happy with them and then the wife put her foot down so no more printing at home... I might try some printing at work... they have a printer that takes card stock but it will have to done on a night shift when there are o managers about..

I was wondering would the Supersystem3 be able to make up characters like:
Buffy, Angel, Spike, Xander, Willow, etc?
Castiel, Dean and Sam Winchester [Supernatural]?

As my wife would actually play a game if I could make squads of these.

Cheers

Sounds like we have the same wife... :P
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.
