Mad Gadgetteer ...

The helmets are blue... :o

They are based on an illustration in Blandfords Army Uniforms of World War 1 by Andrew Mollo.. showing a Tank man from the 4th battalion Tank Corps...

I believe it was more common to just have a Flash on the helmet in the battalion colours but we thought the blue helmets added a splash of colour...

All the best. Aly

Definitely looking forward to seeing this at the show. I like the blue helmets a lot - nice shot of that tank crew in WSS this week.

Please take loads of photos of the game in progress to post up here so those of us not at the event can share in the excellence of this project. This is really great stuff.  I hate to be a naysayer but I am not convinced by the blue helmets. Mollo's blue hue to the helmets is misleading. But, there again, I am a nerd....

As it says...

Flashes on the side of the helmet were more common... and the sergeant in question may have been a one off

But we decided it was a good opportunity to add a bit more colour...

All the Best  Aly
