Agreed on all points, the painting helps this thing out a lot. The ball just seemed like the sculptor didn't know what to do so shoved a ball bearing into the center. Now it looks weirdly appropriate, particularly with the 4th Doc there

I thought of that... The original Rutan was somewhat lacking due to the Beeb's budgetary restraint, but as always they made a good show of it.
