Your painting always does anything a good service but even so I discern these are not as craptastic as their usual stuff. I foreseee great conversion potential. Any chance of a sprue shot or description of the contents?

That looks terrific. Top Job. Well impressed by your painting, but also by the figure. Looks like Warlord have come up with a nice set.

Chinstrap is quite correct in khaki web. The leather version was an earlier iteration.  Both are fine for WW2. As you can't see the inside of the chin cup, I don't think you need to paint it natural leather. :D

Cuffs could but not necessarily should be khaki knit. Individuals usually sewed the tops of socks to the cuff to keep the breeze out.

Of course according to the starter box art, he is holding the gun in the wrong hand (something was nagging me about the Warlord picture, it took me a while to realise).

It's not a webbing chinstrap on that figure it's a leather one, the webbing ones dangle different when unfastened. If you unfasten this one you can take it off yer melon, if you want to go all dangly you've got to unbuckle it from the rim too. The devil's in deetail... just so you know old chap.

With the webbing chinstrap it was far easier to unbuckle it then pull it up over the helmet, like the bloke in this famous piccy...

Look at his mate on the right, with leather chinstrap...
and much light will enter into yer darkness!

I bought myself this book when I started doing British Airborne -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/King-Country-Airborne-Uniforms-Equipment/dp/0764307940

It cost me a fair penny (not as much as it's going for on here though) but it's a superb sourcebook crammed with all the airborne kit. It was only by reading through it that I got a full understanding of everything that was on the models and the various marks of equipment.

Thanks for the link Paul! I'll put it on my wishlist  :)

Also thanks for the comments, wasn't sure what colour to use for the chinstrap and went with 'nondescript'. They are definitely sculpted as the leather variant. Now are they black or rather dark brown??

Cheers
