So today was a quiet day at work, And that meant I was able to paint up some of the store shadow wars scenery.

As a quick review, this stuff is lovely.Chunky plastic and insane detail given the fact that so much of it is cast in single pieces.
IT goes together well, I keep describing it as nerd lego.

Painting wise i did a silver spray, then went at it with model mates red rust and oil brown sprays, then sponged on surface colour before going in with washes and detailing.

That looks really good.

I am slowly startting to get an urge to work on some scenery again and this will certainly work as an inspiration if it should be some hive world stuff...

I've just bought a few of those sets, hope I can get half as good a result from them!

Many thanks for the kind words! This stuff is a joy to paint (well...sponge...)

Despite having over 100 magic players in the store i found some time to sit down and crack out another furnace ,two catwalks and pillars.
(also tried playing with brighter colours in the hope it wouldn't look too out of place, so the catwalks are goblin green and sunshine yellow.)

Here is what I've managed to get done in the last couple of days. Not too shabby for a few hours of sponging and spraying.

On Tuesday the local necromunda group are coming in and will try the stuff out in game. Everything has been given a good coat of testors so hopefully it should stand up to some bumps and scrapes.

Hot Damn that looks great! Very effective method of painting that terrain. I've been painting up a couple sets lately and it's taking 4/13ths of forever to get done.

Cheers chaps! I look forward to getting some in game pics from the necroumnda players.

I'm not in work this week ,I'm busy working on some other, less wargame related steel structures, So nothing new until at least next Wednesday.

Well the necromunda players were in the other night to try out the scenery. Obviously I haven't painted up QUITE enough for them yet, so they had to subsidise it a little.....

But their feedback on the scenery in game terms was good, they enjoy the modilarity and think it's all tall and big enough to actually add some proper height and variation to a table.

So 8th edition is round the corner, And yours truly has been given the task of painting the starter box.
(My own 5thth 6th and 7th edition starter boxes are sat unpainted at home.....)

So i did a quick test on one of the primaris marines today, and my god they are lovely to paint! This is what marines should have been all along to me, Hulking great warriors with a brutal dynamism to their poses.

I'm not normally one for highlights and blending and such things, So this was a real test of my ability to paint cleanly. Now i can't wait to get my hands on a few of these guys for my own ,Where i can attack them with the sponge and weathering sprays !
