6mm Irregular ECW
« on: 27 May 2017, 10:11:09 PM »
I'm building my ECW army principally with Baccus figures, but I like to include a bit of variety in my armies especially when it comes to the character models. Also with the forthcoming new range, and the backlog Baccus are dealing with at the moment, I know there's no point ordering anything from them for the time being - certainly not until the order I placed about a month ago has had a chance to work its way through the system!

So I was looking at other 6mm manufacturers and Irregular seem to have a couple of unit options which Baccus don't. I know however that Irregular's quality can be a bit, well, irregular, but I haven't interacted with their 6mm range before and some of the photos on the site look ok (though inevitably they don't have photos for all units).

Has anyone taken the plunge with Irregular 6mms and have any advice on the subject? Worth a try? Or better just to exercise a bit of patience...?

I have purchased a number of Irregular's 6mm range.

They come on a solid base. The detail is not the greatest.
However, once you have them painted they do look good.
So, when you get them you will not be impressed. You will
not always be able to make out the deal. But, once you are done,
you will be overall pleased with the painted figures. The better the
painter you are the more this will be true.

I will echo the above comment, my figures for 6mm ECW are mainly H&R but I do have some Irregular ones and they do look pretty rough in the raw but are better once painted up. :)

OK, thanks. My painting is pretty average and I'm new to 6mm so I might hold off a bit in that case. Maybe one day.

I used to use both Irregular Miniatures and H. and R. too. The latter were far superior. I've upgraded to 10mm, however.
