Plastic WSS Infantry anyone?
« on: 17 March 2009, 03:01:01 PM »
The first CG render for the "War of Spanish Succession Generic Infantry" is up on the Wargames Factory site.

Looking good so far. That may be a good rank and file figure not only for the WSS but also for regular troops in a Pirates games… we’ll see.

Yes I'll have some of those. In fact I suspect I'd have quite a lot of those.

That certainly looks a hell of a lot better than some of their earlier computer renders. They do seem to be improving. Wonder how well it will translate into a real figure?

The real-life figures look pretty good, I must say. I got some Celts over the weekend at Cold Wars - in addition to the free sprues Tony was giving away, I bought a box - and they're not bad in the least. It looks like they're figuring out the whole digital sculpting business much better now, and the boxes come with plenty of variety in the arm and weapon department.

They've clearly learned some things. I'll be much more comfortable putting money down for these now.

One thing that I like best about this mini is the leg position... in most of their previous works the figure had arched legs (or what appeared to be arched legs), with this position they look more natural... always good to see improvements, but the real important thing is to see how the casts will come out!

Cheers,
Pedro
