Projekt Cobra
« on: 19 June 2017, 07:14:44 PM »
So I have a ton of "left over" tanks from my various projects...  So I was thinking about making a generic OPFOR out of them.  And then it hit me, why not do them up like COBRA from GI Joe...  I used to love that cartoon as a kid and had a lot of the toys..... so here's the first installment...

For the balaclava on the cobra troopers, I actually took pva glue and applied it to their faces... and then painted that part black...

15mm - the troopers are from a spare Motor Rifle Company from Team Yankee...  Same with the T-72

In order to get the balaclavas modeled, I hit the figures face with thin layers of school glue in order to build up to where it looks right....

It's awesome. Well done.

To this day, I'm still surprised that Hasbro, being the owners of Wizard of the Coast, haven't produced a GI Joe rpg or a tabletop game yet.
With so many characters and vehicles to choose from, it would make a great miniature game.

Man...I've been loitering around the idea of a modern combat project for some time.  The idea of a notGIJoe version could push me over the edge! :D  Very cool.

So I now have two full platoons of "the Enemy" painted up, along with 4 T-72's - ie, the beginnings of a good Opfor...
