I like the campaign dress, greatcoat rolled over the shoulder and the shako covered reminiscent of Spain . A buisinesslike individual, well done .

Ahh Gentlemen,

Alas I have been away for far too long! The LAF is always an inspiration and a curse as it tends to get me started in too many projects! This club however is fitting into a current project nicely! I had been talking with a wargaming buddy about painting his Swedish 30 years’ war army but had been putting it off. This "Big Battalion" club challenge has given me the finial push to get them done! I will post some of the figures for you all to see. (since these are not painted for the “club” exclusively perhaps they violate the rules? ??? :o Although I don’t think that many of the miniatures painted for the clubs are not part of another project…lol! ;))
The colors were a bit of a challenge as yellow is for me always a tough color to make look right and the Swedish “Yellow” took time to get right, well as far as my feeling of “right” goes! Hope you enjoy the figure and I will post a few others as they are finished if the club is still running.
Figures are from the “ASSAULT GROUP” line and are very well sculpted, proportioned, and posed! That's one of the reasons I wanted to paint them and the fact that this period was one I had yet to do anything for. Most of the figures I paint will also be modified a bit. I do it to create even more diversity in the army, make my armies unique, and just because I enjoy it! This one had the arm slightly re-positioned and the horse had all 4 feet on the ground. A small bit of cutting, bending, and filling with kneadite (green stuff) gave a much more dynamic feel. The paint is Vallejo with a charcoal black automotive primer used in prep. 8)

I don't know if that would rule it out, but the fact that it's from the Thirty Years War ought to, as officially that comes under the bailiwick of the board above this one.

Nicely done, though, nicely done.

Thanks Plynkes, well they come under the "Horse and Musket" and the "Great Northern War" as far as I see? according to the posting rules...lol. I do not game the period and these will be used with the rules Donnybrook. The eventual owner said this style really covers a wide period for the Swedes. If these don't cut it I guess I toss up some Napoleonic's I've just done!  lol
