Being stuck away from gaming, bar the occasional solo one, this is such a great topic

So we played the first scenario from the TFL pint sized campaign Operation Martlet. This is the table set up for the first game.
The British have to get a unit off the German edge of the table to win, but the British deployment is marred by an early morning mist and the German deployment by a heavy barrage.
In the first game all the Btitish rifle sections got lost in the mist, so that attack was quickly called off, in the second game the infantry made an appearance but the Senior Leaders went AWOL, both of them.
The Germans managed to deploy well before the Brits could get into a good position so again the attack was called off.
Two frustrating games for the Brits and the CO is not a happy bunny, at least theres no mist in the third game :)

Lovely looking setup.

My gaming group must have played that scenario about 5-6 times before the Brits finally managed to push through. It is vicious.

(Much as I like TFL - I honestly don't think it's a very well designed scenario, ahem, but anyway)

It has been a while since I played the last time this year, but finally got back to some more narrative Bolt Action yesterday.

Darwin Tabletop Gamers. 1/72 Crossfire East Front circa '41, played two fast games using Mac's Missions pickup scenario generator I downloaded from Steve's Balagan site (an excellent resource for CF). The attacking player (Germans) failed in both attempts. Crossfire can be a cruel mistress...easy to learn but very difficult to master. At any rate, I can't complain, a bit of social gaming is much better than none at all.
