Played first game of AWI using Osprey's Rebels & Patriots rules - close and enjoyable game of British securing a river crossing.

Took my newly painted Beastman warband into some skirmish gaming today with Merciless...I lost both games but had a hell of a time.

Our lockdown restrictions are easing (two people may visit provided they remain masked) into what will probably be back to normal(ish) at the end of the month.

Anyway, played a couple of games of Legion using the Deep Jungle campaign on the FFG site.

As a 'house rule' we decided that each named character may only appear in one of the four campaign game scenarios. In game one Little Orphan Ani (operative version) cut a swathe through the rebels (including showing Chewie that nine wounds is not nearly enough) and played out 'that scene' in Rogue One on some unfortunate Fleet Troopers (below). Didn't grab any objectives so the Wookie Warriors managed to snaffle one and leg it for a losing draw.

In game two (no photos, sorry) Hero of the Rebellion Luke did pretty much the same cutting through all the Imperials before striking down Iden in the last turn with the Son of Skywalker command card coming into its own.

The 300 point limit and smaller board really changes the dynamic so looking forward to the last couple of games soon.

Attended (well, help run actually, since I'm on the Board for HMGS-GL, who put on the thing...) Advance the Colors last weekend in Springfield, Ohio, USA.  On Friday, I helped run a BIG wild west game and played in its 2nd iteration (28mm using Fistful of Lead).  I also played in a ACW game (15mm using Gettysburg Soldiers).  Then Saturday morning I ran a Cops-n-Robbers game (28mm using Fistful of Lead 2ed).  Had a blast in each game I took part in!

Below are a couple pics from each game...

Excellent games. Great to Fistful of Lead on full display in Springfield. Too bad it wasn’t Springfield, Mo or I might have stopped by.

Taken at the start of 'Ladies Night', where the better halves of some local chaps who had tried out gaming wanted a game of their own...'in case they were missing out'!

It was a real eye opener, I can tell you!

Played a small solo game of bolt action to help remember the rules, forgot lots of things as going along but haven't played for ages, was a mixed commonwealth force trying to evict some germans from a ruined hamlet. It did not go well for them.
Below the tree you can see a historically accurate PIAT team, took 4 point blank shots to destroy the sdkfz 222 ;D and at the back you may notice the anti tank gun that spent the entire game missing the immobilised carrier.

Finished the last two games in the Deep Jungle campaign. Very good fun and a well structured campaign where game results mattered and both sides picked up additional forces depending on how well they did in previous games. Our house rule of one appearance only from named characters also worked in getting lots of different minis on the table.

Above: set up for game three - Rebels under Leia take the right and bring overwhelming fire to bear against the imperials. Wookies manged to annoy the Inferno troopers and absorb Bossk's attention while the rest of the Rebels cleaned up the table.

Above: Rebel set up for game four - Early firing got rid of the Scout snipers and Veers ventured too close to the front so was on the wrong end of concentrated fire from Han, the Z-6 and commandos. The Shore troopers and their mortar made a few dents but the second wave of Wookies and Fleet troopers took care of most of their foes.

Above: Veers leads from the front. Sometimes it works...

It'll be interesting going back to 800pts from here.
