OMG, is that a Chandley class ship I see on the table? Where did you get that? Did you print it yourself?

Yes, or so I am told. I am not as conversant on Star Trek ship lore as the others. The host's son, Phil, printed it up with his new 3D printer. We all laughed when we heard he bought one as my host (Mike W) and our friend Keith are going to monopolize the time on that...!  lol

Do you want me to ask where he got the file? Or see if they can send it to you?

Yes please. I had a metal one back in the late 80s but lost it somewhere. Have a fondness for those old FASA designs.

I have forwarded your request and hopefully my friend will be forthcoming soon. I'll see him Sunday and remind him if he hasn't sent it. He's hosting again this Sunday...  :)

On 1930's Ascension there's yet another attempt to rescue the ambassador, this time with help from the Württembergischen Düsenjäger. Will they succeed where the police failed?

Andy, visited your site which led to finding out LZ120 was shortest Zeppelin built at 396' which at 1:100 is still nearly 4' actual length - and even longer, closer to 7' at 1/56 scale (appx. 28 mm scale).  Which leads to: Holy Heck! Even foreshortened to half length is still a 3 1/2' model!

Hmm, maybe a model of just the gondola with a little bit of the balloon above is in order.  Do you really plan to build one?

(I might do something for my WWI German East Africa as a what if scenario - but seriously foreshortened for sure - and in 15 mm.)

And Marianas Gamer, thanks for the reply.

I once worked out that I could fit a 1:55 scale model of the Hindenburg in the living room, if I put it diagonaly and don't need to have furniture or close the kitschen door.

I'm working on the theory that as Pulp Alley is a cartoon or comic book styled game, a comic book like airship will fit in, so a fairly small (for the real world) airship of less then a metre long will work. I realise I may be testing the limits of this theory...

A quick game of Dead Man's Hand.
Five shots and the target failed his nerve and ran from town.

A test game of my fast play O Group (the combat and activation rules are inspired by Bloudy Big Battles)

Viking Raid on an Anglo-Saxon town using Ganesha Games' "Sellswords & Spellslingers" rules. My five players were all Vikings controlling three raiders each. They were trying to accumulate the most loot and exit off-table in this cooperative (but competitive in this scneario) game.

The players learned the game and said they enjoyed it. So, look for more semi-historical SS & SS in 2025. The scenario itself will likely be the convention game that I run at least in the early part of next year's shows.

For LOTS more photos and discussion of both the rules and the scenario, check out my Lead Legionaries blog: http://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/2024/12/viking-town-raid-with-sellswords.html

@mikedemana, that hexagon mat... great idea for multiplayer games! Did you make that? Do you have a blog post about it?

I did make it myself. Pretty much just took one day, not counting drying time. It is tacked onto the end of a blog post about my Tatooine 3-D printed buildings. Here's the link:

I have a number of other similarly made mats from long ago. Here's my post from 2015 when I created my first one for my French & Indian War games using Song of Drums and Tomahawks:

French-Dutch War 1672.
Using the North Star figure collection. Rules were Warlord's Pike & Shotte Epic Battles.
