[LEAD LEGION] The LAF Space Marine Chapter

Don't know if it has been already discussed by thought to post anyways... You the lot in charge decide whether appropriate or not for this project.

Pictured three minis from the aeons old GW game Star Fleet (or something like that). Perfect vessels for the Lead Legion fleet, IMHO. The left and right one have no names yet, but I thought to name the middle one as Vetus Plumbum (Old Lead)

I have added an image of the fleet to the gallery and this thread. One ship was already "The Lead Zepplin" (maybe that's the one on the right?), leaving the one on the left without a name. The "Cthulhu"? I have no idea what the sailing ship in the page banner is.

I am making progress on my assault squad (still missing heads and backpacks).  Man, painting 10 models sucks, and I've forgotten how much I dislike painting marines.

Yep, me too. I'm only doing a 5 man assault squad and finding it quite a chore compared to some other things I have on the go.

I'm copying Blackwolf's technique of not being too clean (love that terminator). Dry brushing 4 guys in brown right now. Found an ancient pot of rotting flesh (must be 15+ years old). Added some water a week ago and will dabble it on.

Blackwolf - can't help you with a name, but definitely looking forward to photos.

To reply to Von Lucky's question on the primaris marines (made in the model topic), I assume the correct and useful implementation of them is a hotly discussed topic in the Fora of the chapter.

(A bit) more serious here: considering the sailboat schooner in the banner, how about a play on the Flying Dutchman: the Lying Leadman? Because admit it; we've all smuggled new additions into the leadpile in without the missus' knowledge...

So after a long period, here is the first of my Lead Legion marines.




Though he is wearing his grade one armour maintenance rosette, he has been fighting hard and has not had enough time to perform the rituals of maintenance.


Now to find enough sprues with bits for the rest of the squad ^___^ without actually opening a new box.
