I think I have just seen the 'realistic' dwarves that I always wanted.
Gods, monsters and men,
Will die together in the end.

Those look mighty fine!

I'd been thinking of repainting my Dragontooth dwarves, but this looks like a far more deserving set of warriors. Great stuff!

Can't wait to get some paint on them.

Lovely stuff again, I wish I could guarantee that I would invest the time to paint them as they're soo tempting.

Word of advice, they're a bit small. Same scale as Dwarves from the LotR range from GW.

Yep, Tre is easily one of my (if not "the") favourite sculptors in the business.  I own most of what he's done for Reaper etc...I just can't get into the small 25-28mm stuff because it doesn't scale with almost anything else on the market.

If it did scale better I'd probably own the entire Red Box Games range.  It is definitely frustrating.

HROTHAGAR, ALMKNUT and IOMHAR look like they would fit into my Slavic fantasy games but will have to wait and see on the scale.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Just think of them as Gnomes.

Best dwarves sculpts ever IMHO. Just outstanding. It's going well and closing up to a modular set (meaning no duplicates)! Yesss!

This, absolutely! I love Tre's sculpting, but they are just too small. And all his human warriors have tiny heads, but that is another matter entirely!😉

So true. I ended up putting plastic heads on the modular warriors from the first Warbands of the Cold North.

The fact that these are true 25mm instead of heroic 28mm is the main reason I don't own more (all?) of Tre's catalogue.

However, if I just bought minis to paint and display only rather than to paint and play with, it wouldn't even be an issue!

He sculpts very much in the comicbook style, with small heads to exaggerate the torso. It's so unique in the miniatures industry that his work is instantly recognisable and rightly lauded as among the best there is. But it does bring about compatibility issues, not just because of the height of his mins, but because most sculptors go the other way and put larger heads on to exaggerate hands and faces. I don't know if he could improve compatibility without ruining his unique style ... maybe just add 2-3mm onto the height?
