Leadpocalypse's Random Fantasy Miniatures Project
« on: 11 August 2017, 11:02:43 PM »
Hello there,

In the hope to focus some of my painting projects I thought I'd share some of my fantasy stuff after being inspired by the many ace threads I've seen on here.

First up, the tower from Battle Masters which I've had for nearly 20 odd years but never got round to painting properly.

I managed to fill the gaps and extend the staircase so models can actually fit on it.

Now onto building/painting some stuff for SoBH and Open Combat...

That staircase extension is great.  You managed to make it fit in great with the tower itself.

Great stuff! Great stonework, and I love the sparse touches of vegetation around the base.

That is a SPLENDID looking tower...very nicely sceniced & BEAUTIFULLY painted. The stairway makes the piece for me; that is a FINELY crafted gem. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah the original stairs are only about 1-2cm wide and it never looked right in my opinion. I have some higher res pics on my blog which show the roof as well as some images of what it looked like before painting. For a few hours modelling work it's a nice bit of cheap scenery. I think I might have took some inspiration from the wooden stairs at the back of Newark Castle when making it. I have a simba castle which I hope to try and renovate in the future as well but I need to crack on with some minis for now.
