I've painted several platoons worth of GZG's excellent 15mm Xarr figs, but my first love is Full Thrust and Jon doesn't make official Xarr starship figs, so I've been keeping my eyes open for something else to use.  First test set, a strike swarm of heavy corvettes repurposed from Ghar flitter drones.

Stats, more photos, and fluffiness on the blog here:

I was thinking they would make good flies for nurglesque armies suitably painted

Yeah, they're very Bloat Drone-ish, as are the similar Bomb Flitters.  Maybe better for that in 15mm 40K though.  They could be the equivalent on a 28mm Nurgle version of a servo-skull easily enough.  Also maybe of use as some sort of Tau drone attached operating with a Vespid unit.

I was thinking the lines were a bit clean for Nurgle, but the panel pattern on the back DOES say 'Tau' to me.

They could work for Tau as well, but Nurgle's look is easy to achieve by just choosing colors well and maybe crudding things up with some textured paint and/or sand glued on for a rougher surface.

Great painting.  Nice models.  I thought about a fleet or two using the GoA drones but cant find any larger ships which I feel are compatible with them.

I love these! Really in the spirit of the old Full Thrust rulebook. Thanks for sharing. :)

I'm still hunting as well.  Like it says on the blog post, I have some fairly definite ideas about how I'd like to build the fleet but the bigger ships are still eluding me.  Probably going to kitbash something rather than just repurpose, but it's till up in the air.

A lot of the other drones strike me as being perfect for use as small satellites, orbital weapons, comm relays, etc.
