Robin Hood Swashbuckling - Larger than life (update 19/11)

I tend to think of this project as an offshoot of the Three Musketeers collection that I posted earlier (), but technically, it is really the King & Country Robin Hood range that drew me into collecting the larger scale models, as some of the more central characters are modeled after the 1938 "The Adventures of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn (still the definitive Robin Hood movie in my opinion).

Like the Three Musketeers, the idea is to play 1-on-1 skirmish games with these 65mm figures (and expand a bit on the range, with some conversions).




Robin and Maid Marion, for instance look like they walked straight from the screen (or close enough)


And while not all of the baddies are based on that famous movie, this duel scene between Robin and Sir Guy of Gisborne (portrayed by Basil Rathbone) definitely is:

So, just to get this straight, is this a fight to the death?

As are the mounted version of Sir Guy and the clothing of the Bishop of Nottingham:

Your Project really captures the feeling of the film! The only problem I see is the size of the castle and its dungeons you need to recreate a couple of swashbuckling scenes of the film. I don't know if its only me, but I like very much the colours of Maid Marion's dress.

The Errol Flynn version is my favourite Robin Hood of all. So great to see the characters come to life like this.

I can't take much credit, these are straight out of the box. Certainly a more than decent tabletop standard.

Working on converting and painting up a couple figures to use as bystanders.
