Needs more Glenda Jackson.  ;)

Our story takes place in 1937, which is almost twenty to eight...

So funny, growing up I never even questioned that, Eric and Ernie in bed. Still remember the no talking musical breakfast sketch, genius!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

"Get out of that without moving, you can't can you?"

and my favourite, as a fire engine goes past the flat its alarm bells ringing, Eric says, "He'll never sell any ice-creams
at that speed"

Indeed, but it was after all an innocent time where we believed children could only catch STIs from public lavatory seats and that Jimmy Saville was a smashing bloke. I wonder what Mary Whitehouse made of these scenes?

Must admit I did not think too much about it in the 60,s when I saw the skits as a kid. The biggest naughtiness that went on in that bed was Eric eating pickled onions in it - they was wild times the 60's  lol
