Swapping heads
« on: 26 August 2017, 06:24:09 PM »
I am building an army for "The Men who would be kings"  I am using the Perry Plastics from VLW 1 British Infantry in Afghanistan and Sudan 1877-85.

Does anyone know if you can use the metal turbaned heads WW 6 Sikh heads that are desigened to be swapped with the plastic Desert Rats?  the maindifference is that the Desert Rats are cast with heads that have to be removed first.  The Sudan British bodies are headless

I myself wanted to go this way. But at the moment I think that it does not make sense. The Perry brothers perfectly develop the line of Indian national regiments for the 2nd Afghan war. And they have an excellent value for money.

Isn't the Perry WW2 stuff an entirely different scale? (i.e. much too small to be head-swapping with their colonials) That's what I heard.

On a lesser note, I'm no expert on this theatre, but unlike during WW2 I don't think the British and Indian troops wore the same uniforms, so these wouldn't be technically correct (obviously if you don't mind that then this is not an issue).

That's right, Plynkes: Indian troops wore the pullover kurta rather than the single-breasted tunic. It was generally a bit longer than the tunic, too.
