Threshold Progression
« on: August 30, 2017, 01:13:47 AM »
Some advice needed.
We've played a few games, as per the rules Threshold started at 15 points, they have now progressed to 17 points and that includes a couple of games with no PP progression.  Just like no-one (well my group anyway) wanted to start AD&D with Level 1 characters, I'm thinking it would be an idea to generate a couple of more experienced Threshold Teams.  This will allow the Lurker to field something other than Cultists!!

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I've expermented with it a little. Basicaly no it does not "break" the game, but because you're getting a veteran team without many throwbacks the game will favor threshold. It leads to a game where purchases are often made for their power level instead of the near Roleplay experience you get otherwise.

It's less about starting Warbands- with me it's been more about the number of sequential games played.

My most recent experment was to start off with one free psychic and to get her to survive 5 games as she tried to escape from a rural town in Maine and a Cult dedicated to capturing her... Good results.
