Very nice, Lt. Hazel! Those horses are excellent! Beautiful paint jobs! What range of minis are they from?

Very nicely painted indeed. Despite the fact that they are dirty rotten traitors, you've done a great job with them:)

Lt. I love your work - but honestly? I'm not too sure on the oil-wipe horses.
I quite like the muddy and 'impressionistic' effect, but they look to be ultra-Matt. Perhaps you had to apply a lot of matt to counteract the shine of the oil paint?  :?

Anyway, horses are slightly glossy, whereas these horses appear to have almost a white cloudy covering - not unlike the dreaded white 'bloom' when varnishing goes horribly wrong...

I wonder whether it might be worth trying a thin coat of satin varnish to lift them a bit?

Of course, it might just be the photograph that is causing the effect, but the riders look to be alright.

Please accept the criticism as constructive!  :)

They are gallant southern gentlemen, not dirty rotten traitors ;)

Nicely done, but I see what the good Captain is saying about the horses.

Yep, me too. And your constructive criticism is welcome Cpt., especially when it comes from an excellent horse painter like you.

very nice and realistic work !

plastic Perry mini seem to be really detailled ones...!
those ones seem to be great bases for conversions !

but I am in trouble about all those "28mm" figs.

Is the size closed to the "black scorpion" ones ?

does the horses have the saddle attached to them, or to soldiers (like foundry ones) ?
does anyone tried to mix perry and other figs ?
do you have any photos to compare ?

thanks for advices.

Black scorpion figures are more 32mm than 28mm
They are not very compatible.
