colors for Italian paras - telo mimetico '29

Has anyone tried the Lifecolor paint set for WW II Italians? Their green for the telo mimetico - the Italian camouflage pattern - is a rather greyish shade of blue and while the effect is not bad at all, it looks different from most of the reproductions I have seen - if you look at figure F3 in the Osprey on World War II Partisan Warfare in Italy that's more or less the result, but with an even more bluish/grayish shade. Is that the way it's supposed to look? I tend to like and trust Lifecolor but in this case I am perplexed...

This is a composite photograph of actual ww2 tele mimetico pattern that I made from a photo of a Zeltbahn, when I was researching a book.



The green is clearly olive green rather than blue green.

I think there was a post WW2 version that had the blue shade.

Thanks Mick! Very useful! the dark brown and the khaki are very close to the one in the Lifecolor set, while the green in your photo is definitely... greener!

That looks like VallejonFlat Earth, German Splinter Blotch Green and Buff to me.

The original M-29 pattern utilised the greyish blue field.

I would say VJ Flat Brown (984) German Camo Bright Green (833) and Buff (976)
