Pulp Alley AAR: Soerabaja Manhunt
« on: October 09, 2017, 09:50:39 PM »
Just finishing up this AAR from back on July 4.  A pretty wild game, as most 4 player games seem to be.  The most notable event was Rocky's league drawing the red herring 5 or 6 times trying to get a plot point. In the end, we just gave it to him, since he was about to boil over with frustration (actually, he did boil over a bit).  Trotsky and Sovs got crushed, and our new player didn't do too shabby.

We have added the "Blood and Glory" card into our mix, and it has really accelerated our leagues reputation growth.  Outside of a campaign environment, this card may not be as interesting, but we have one league approching 50 reputation already.

We have finished up three more scenarios since this game, although only two have pictures and may end up as AARs also.

Great looking game! :-* :-*
Excellent report.

I too have games from a few months ago that I need to post and this may just be the thing to inspire me to finish off some AAR's.

Thanks for posting!

A charmingly violent scenario! And very nice scenery. I just hope Caesar recovers--he clearly has the best commentary.

Great AAR! I couldn't help but notice the boat, which looks a lot like the boats that are used at Chinese tourist sites - where had you sourced it?

A terrific read - thank you! Full of action and great images, but not over-cluttered in either. Top notch!

You've done a great job with those railway figures. Where did you source them? I've got ones that are in the same pose, but with barely any definition on them - due, I suspect, to my getting them dirt cheap - but you've managed to really bring them to life. Truly great painting if yours were similarly bland!

Thank you very much for all of the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I couldn't help but notice the boat, which looks a lot like the boats that are used at Chinese tourist sites - where had you sourced it?

I picked that up at a kitschy tourist shop in Slovenia.   It is a replica of the boats used on the lakes there,  I intend to paint it at some point.

You've done a great job with those railway figures. Where did you source them? Thanks, and good eye on the figures.  Those are the bargain bag you get on Amazon.com - 100 'O' gauge model railroad figures for $10 or so.  There are maybe 8-10 different poses.  Detail is light, but the price was right.  I use them to practice different painting techniques, and some get to make it to the big time!

Those are some mighty fine practice figures then - those are the ones I've got, and you must practically be painting freehand all the time with the lack of decent definition / detail on them!
