Geheimkrieg miniatures (Wessex Games)
« on: April 07, 2009, 03:25:19 AM »
As it is now "after December", anyone know if there are any plans to release these figures this year?

Yup I know.
And no there are no plans. Steve needs 12 minis to cast into a new mould and I don't think he has enough.

They will come sometime in the future, not necessarily from WG.  :?

They have been 'pumping' those figs for over a year now.

Am much as I would love to see them on my painting table :-*, I am no longer holding my breath that they will be released soon... ;)

I'll do what I can to pester Steve.

His ruleset Geheimkrieg is supposed to be VERY good and VERY different from anything like it before.  ;)

Not sure of the ins-and-outs of the release of these figures, and I certainly wouldn't want to nag anybody,  ;), but they are very nice figures, and it would be a terrible shame if they didn't see the light of day eventually.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

It was spoken about a lot on their Horror Yahoo group. The big problem is that it is a one man business really. Miniatures are expensive to cast, each mould is £50 a time. Each mould can take 12 minis and he likes them to be related.
Also, he has to focus on what is popular. Right now, it's the VSF games. If he doesn't focus on it, he will lose custom and in turn, Brigade Models will lose custom.

It's very nice and unusual for someone to take a stance like yourself.
Keep them fingers crossed. Hopefully something will happen soon(ish). I'm more of a Panzerfauste player though.  ;D

Unfortuantely its the same old some old year after year with this range. Steve has been promising these figures for years and years, he's missed the boat. I've been a supporter for a long time now I'm just bored of the delay, the not Kronen, ubertrooper and werewolf were nice but we are NEVER going to see them in lead.

There's a gaunlet thrown down if ever there was...please prove me wrong!

lol.

Can you sculpt?

Sculpt him 9 other miniatures which could be used.

That's pretty much all I can say for it.
I mean, all I can do is email him and ask if he is gonna release Geheimkrieg. That's where he's really missed it because it's meant to have a totally new system. I think he asked West Wind if they would support it and they refused. That is if I recall correctly.
You must remember it is a one man business, it is an EXPENSIVE business and it is not his job, it is just a hobby.

The big money at the moment seems to be in WW2 - and Weird War 2 seems to be selling particularly well at that. It seems to me this would be an ideal time to release these miniatures, even if they -aren't- tied to a specific rule system yet. On the other hand, Wessex hasn't updated its catalog of Aeronefs for some time, and that's their bread and butter, so... *shrug*.

Aeronef?

Brigade Models mate. They sell them and are liscenced to Wessex Games. Steve works well with them...

Yes. It would be the perfect time for them to be released. But he can't because of money etc. If you can't get it done in the first place it doesn't matter if they sell or not! We shall just have to see what happens.

Wessex also has their own range of Aeronefs, which you can find by exploring their site a bit. The Wessex 'Nefs have never been available from Brigade, and vice versa.

Oh I know mate.
They haven't been updated because Brigade Games has the liscence to do the minis for Steve. They work closely with WG and are waiting for Aeronef II...

Sorry not me (Brigade Games). I had offered a long time ago to take them off his hands and get them into production. I do distribute Wessex here in the states but never have been real successful with the nef minis. Maybe you mean Brigade Models.

Anyway enough random threadkjacking. The miniatures have been promised for years and nothing. I'm not holding my breath on these and frankly it all gets a bit tedious chewing the fat on this, unless this is actually going to stimulate activity, (which I doubt).

Sorry if I sound harsh but heard it all before.
