I keep telling myself that I’m just waiting for my kids to get old enough to use the room full of stuff I have accumulated. Then we can play together.

...Don't sell off your super limited stuff, or anything you have an emotional attachment to...

Yeah, like I'm not emotionally attached to 99.999% of my figures.

If you do an inventory of what you have unpainted. Work out how long it will take you to paint them. Double that,as that’s how long it will actually take. Add the time to your age. If the answer takes you to over 80 then maybe it is time to pare things down a bit?  lol

Doesn't that spoil the 'one one with the most toys when they die wins' concept a bit though?

I am not a hoarder. I've never assembled a horde in all my life.

My pal Genghis, on the other hand...
Operating from an abandoned US spy base somewhere in the Australian outback, Miniature Martin produces games and scale miniatures set in parallel worlds, past and future. He is NOT trying to take over the Earth. This time.

My boy just turned 17.  I have recently rebased all my ancients for DBA 3.0 and we began playing that.  He beat me.  He got hooked and he's now got himself a Thessalian army and is painting that while I'm making inroads into my lead-mountain to put more armies onto those 2ft x 2ft tables......so it does happen!

As for "I am a hoarder with short attention span" just remember the mantra: "1 is too many; 10,000 is not enough!"  I'm at 11,200+ and counting.

I have quite a hoard, and am trying to rationalise. I have no problem with Mrs Orcs as we have enough space.  I have my own den, a large garage loft and our house loft is only half full.

The money spent is mine and has no impact on the household budget. So no issues there.

The problem is you look at stuff and say "Its only one shoebox and I might have a use for it"  Do that 95 times and you have a lot of stuff.  So this year I have been trying only to buy stuff to finish off projects I am actually  working on .  I have done reasonably well at this having completed several 10mm Armies this year. trouble is Christmas and Birthday are coming up

I have not purchased anything today!!! But the day is not over.

I look at this like my retirement investments. The prices keep going up, so they will be worth more in the future. Look at some of the GW prices.

So I am saving for retirement.

Work for me! :D

My last purchase was the mad maximilian rules but I had been waiting on those to be released for some time. (very tasty they are too)

I used to try that - I've still never completed a project to my satisfaction mind!
