Mounted King/Baron/Prince models - 28mm
« on: 28 October 2017, 03:49:05 AM »
Any suggestions for a late feudal era King or Prince on horseback?  I want one to use alongside my Teutonic Knights.  I was going to grab the couple of Kings that 1st Corp off their ebay site, but I am a little put off that they say that additional models are 50 pence more for shipping, but when I ask for a combined invoice, their auto-reply is that they do not offer combined shipping.  Feels skeezy to me, like a bait and switch, which sucks, because they look like decent models.

Well, yes, I must say that when I read the OP my first thought was, 'well why buy them off Ebay which is going to be less flexible? Why not contact them direct?'

In my experience as US buyer frequently getting things from the UK, is that Ebay stores generally have better shipping rates, and are more likely to have the exchange rate correct.  Also, it allows me to use someone else to get my money back when a purchase goes sideways. There have been cases where this is wrong, but as frequent buyer based on projects, that's where I have ended up tending to go.

But surely if you’re buying them from from 1st Corps’ EBAY shop they would cost you more as they will be covering the eBay rates?

Not usually - though that may explain the shipping rate confusion.  Maybe I'll give it a try to get the figures.

I hadn't seen these before.  It surprises there are not more of these around.

I took a shot that their service is more responsive via their own site compared to their Ebay site, and ordered them up.  Found a mounted bishop to go with my Teutonics as well.

I think I might have an old Lamming one that you can have. It is a 2 part metal horse plus rider. I just never got around to putting it together & don't really have anything in that scale & period to go with it.
