Wow, I would never have guessed the oven was layered foamboard. That is very neat work and provides a very distinctive accent piece. I have done work in layered cork before. I will try that on an oven for my own village. I don't know why I didnt think of it before. Thanks for this!

Thanks all  :)

I can’t claim the horno as a moment of inspiration as it’s actually in the movie  :D

Nice buildings Steve.

I’m sorry I shot and kicked one of your characters to death, Keith, although I think you had just shot my Ol’ Timer a few minutes before  lol

I’m not sorry I pushed your character out of that Zeppelin, Nicholas  >:D

They don’t call ‘im Blood fer nuffink, yer know :D

Anyways, have plastered the cantina, which is applied onto glue. When it’s dry I’ll probably add a bit of Milliput to the horno for a better shape. I’ll also cut away excess plaster then will probably paint with a glue/talc paste that gives the irregular but smooth finish that I like. It looks a bit rubbish at the mo but will start to look better after the next stage.

You are modest - it's looking great. It will be fun to see the next stage.

Re: FfOL - UD 22/11 - cantina tidied up a bit WIP (p4)

Very kind, thanks  :D

It’s been tidied a bit now. I use a soft plaster (rather than a hard filler) as I prefer to carve and scrape the treated foamboard, rather than sanding. So after excess plaster is removed it needs a harder coating, which is a firm mix of Evi-Stik Exterior Wood Glue and Johnson’s Baby Powder that is brushed on.

Still looking pretty rough but it’s starting to come together.

Next step will be to add the hitching rail to front right and sand to the base.

It's looking even more marvelous! Do you plan to stain the woodwork?

The woodwork will be painted rather than stained, which is why I don’t tape it off it or worry too much about getting filler or glue over it.  :)

Ta. Thinking about it, it could also be a jail or a farmhouse.

That looks really good Steve - is it too late to make the interior accessible?
