Does anyone know of any companies that make the "aliens" from the Alien movie? Not GW genesteelers. I think it would be cool to stumble around in the dark while being hunted down by hundreds of acid dripping aliens.....

The Aliens and Colonial Marines were done by Leading Edge Games a few years ago but they are now OOP. They were issued as boxed sets and included: 2 boxes of Aliens, the Alien Queen, 2 boxes of Marines, 1 of Colonists, Ripley in a Power Loader, and the APC.

Hard to find now but they do crop up on Ebay etc. Sculpting wasn't brilliant (in my opinion) but I have a full set of each as I am a fan of the film.

Wizkids has released a box with Seven Aliens... I don't know but maybe they are in a suitable scale...

East Riding Miniatures also have a bunch of "Not-Aliens", which suffer from a decidedly poor picture on the website, but might be nice (and not too expensive, either):

Just a bit on the chunky side, though.

If you can get hold of the Leading Edge Games minis ( hard to find!) I think they are probably the best, if not a little rough.
The new AVP minis from wizkids look pretty good, but they do look a little big.

Here are a few pics of my Leading Edge Games figures.

The Queen is a good representation and the Warriors are OK.  The Marines/Civilians are not up to scratch compared to most of the sculptors work featured in this forum.

Lovely work Overlord! :o
Excellent use of colours and I love your scenery. I agree about the humans not being good sculpts.
I used to have the Leading Edge Alien Queen but I sold her in favour of the Konami one. I always thought the LEG version looked a bit bulky!

KONAMI ALIEN QUEEN

She's pretty much bang on scale with the LEG Aliens and comes already painted!!!! :)

Its some time since I painted them so I can't be entirely sure.

Most likely was a black undercoat then several drybushes starting with Vallejo "German cam dark green"  gradually mixing with, then fading to "US dark green".

In reality they are a bit "greener" than the photos suggest.

Rebase the Horror Clix Aliens. Easier to find, inexpensive, they are tall and spindley, but work with 28mm humans.

I found this tonight
Alien Heads designed to fit gaunts, genestealers and tyranid warriors
Tails for same

All their "Space Bugs and monsters" parts

Three years later you post up!  :o  lol

Sorry to rain on your parade pal, but we just got our asses kicked...erm sorry, (Hudson quote off). Aliens horrorclix were cheap as chips 3+ years ago, now they are seriously expensive when you can find a set.

So on both counts of ease and cheapness I'd have to disagree. Queen's are reasonably cheap but warriors not.

Tim, there are loads of Aliens thread already running, a little search-a-runy would have found you your info I reckon. Anyway horror clix aliens work well but I refer the right honurable gentleman to the answer given to the question previous.

Leading edge are difficult to find now as well, (but do surface). Chapter House are about to be handed their own arses in a sling by GW, (plus from Pukka's link those are not tails).

Nids with a little gs over the eyes and an extended head fit the bill, (use gaunts then you've got tails too). Second edition metal hormagaunts
work well too as they already have the extended head.

Failing that Scotia Grendel's Kryomek's are suitably gigeresque and still available.

Good luck.

The Leadingedge one's do turn up as I found out at Albanich show the other week.Got several for £5.00.One of which is hanging from a wall.

The Konami Alien Queen is very nice and as been stated the Horrorclix one is pretty easy to get ahold of.The Horrorclix Alien warriors are hard to find as Viper say's.I was lucky to get a box.

Being unfamiliar with GW products I wasn't aware of the Tyranid Hormagaunts.  They look like they have a lot of potential.  The Commanders comment re GS to the head is noted but has anyone tried any conversions with a change of pose?

Box of 12 for £12.40 from Wayland Games seems allright but it reads like there are only 4 basic figure poses.    ???
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)
