Itsy bitsy spiders
« on: December 04, 2017, 02:23:55 PM »
...from Reaper Bones, added some tree trunks to make the poses more interesting, and experimented a bit with the bases, adding some leaves, moss and rocks. These are pretty basic minis on their own.

I also tried using hot glue as webs, the result isn't ideal. It isn't possible to create weblike crisscross patterns, as the melted glue just melts any existing strands away. This needs a bit more thinking I guess... maybe use fishing line for longer strands and then add crossing lines with hotglue?

Darkest period of the year, and no extra lights available, so the pics aren't ideal.

These are fantastic - makes me think of Mirkwood! Those hot glue strands looks fine to me: as if the spiders had just produced them.

Tree trunks are a great addition, will need to steal that idea at some point.

These are brill - really give the feeling that the spiders have been laying in wait and are now descending to attack. Great.

They are BEAUTIFULLY painted & based little creations. They might enjoy a visit to my Spooky Woods. You may just have inspired an addition to the place. VERY WELL DONE!

Great. I love those spiders and you've done a great job on them. Those bases really suit the poses.

Thanks everybody, yes Mirkwood is exactly what I made them for... those trunks have an additional function, as they work nicely as handles for lifting the minis.

Fishing line. Comes in all sizes. You can use it to make the criss cross patterns on the hot glue or just is it period to make all parts of the web.
Enjoy

I'm not usually a big fan of Bones, but those spiders are lovely.
