Thanks for e great battle report and pictures. Been thinking of trying BG as I found the last few games of BP with AWI a bit lack lustre.

Its a great set of rules Armchairgeneral for small battles, on average though you are moving 6 inches or so and then stopping every now and then to re-order so on a 6 foot table its 5 or 6 moves before you are in action.

Small battles, starting fairly near each Other and they give a good flavour for AWI.

Thanks Roger. My AWI stuff is based on the Southern theatre and I game on a 4 x 6 table so it sounds ideal. It is funny, I used to be really happy with BP but now suddenly I have gone off it.

I personally really like Black Powder for AWI the thing that puts me off is that we use BP for a number of different periods. You will probably like British Grenadier for the smaller actions in the Southern Campaign.
