Thanks for the support guys 👍

I hadn't even started considering hot to photograph it yet- it'll be FAR too big for my normal gaming table backdrop, I do like the thought of a Ghibli backdrop, either Howl or Mononoke would work well if I can find a good scene and a big printer.  Gives me an excuse to watch some great films anyway  ;)

A couple of plastic GW scythe blades from a skeleton something or other and a bit more green stuff equals quick and simple prosthetic spurs 💪 and a 'square' of plastic with a couple of magnets to help locate it into the building's base.

How to base a 'miniature' of this magnitude? I found an old Teflon coated saucepan in my shed which was around the right diameter, and poured a layer of dental plaster into the bottom of it.  While the plaster was still wet I pushed a sheet of Hessian sack cloth into it to provide some reinforcement.  When the plaster had cured for a couple of days I popped it out, filled and sanded any imperfections and proceeded to texture it. Since it had more real estate than most bases I went a little coarser than normal, using a mixture of sands, gravels dried crumbled earth and a LOAD of superglue to fuse everything together.

I just need to beaten up the joint between the legs and the building then I think I'm ready for undercoat  8)

A creature that big would leave really deep footprints!

Luckily the base isn't big enough to squeeze in any footprints #phew!#
Or my excuse could be that a mystical magical creature such as this leaves no impression, no sign of its presence, not even bending blades of grass under its feet...

Aside from additional parts which'll be added as the paint job progresses I think I'm about done on the build part of this.

A few hitherto unseen details- the tattered noren curtain, tanuki statue and lantern bracket.

A couple of wara ningyo charms which'll be nailed to the top storey for protection against curses and spells...

And I guess that's my last photo in this thread for now, measuring in at 'big' inches high, this is easily the biggest thing I've ever attempted, let's see how the painting goes 👋

Do the legs connect with the 'square' or is there a, for a lack of a better word, crotch area underneath the 'square'?
