Here is one I prepared earlier...

I still have to put some decals on this one as well (and more rust and Earthshade).

Out of interest, how much of a Series III Land Rover is steel?

Sorry, it is Large Stowage:
http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product/stowage-large/

And yes, the HMMWV is very odd (I have one for my PLA).

I have to admit to thinking the metal was aluminium (wikipedia mentions an aluminium-magnesium alloy).

However

Huh, I didn't know that actually. So the frame and main structural components that the aluminium is bolted to is steel, and prone to rust. That would make sense as its what gives the vehicle its integrity. Which would then infer that the rust would spread from there when it comes to weathering a model Land Rover.

From that buy guide, it sounds as if the chassis and bulkhead can corrode away, leaving a stack of body panels.

From the images on your search, rust bleeds from the bulkhead through the front of the driver/front passenger doors.

The wheels and the roof rack are going to be sites of rust, and where the spare and the latter are attached

I know what aluminium corrosion looks like, not sure how not to make it look like bird poo on the model.

So, having bought a pack of Rhodesian SAS from Under Fire Miniatures, I have done head swaps and based them.

I have used Empress Miniatures wooly hat heads, it is a bit colder in Europe.

Now waiting for the weather to warm up so I can undercoat them, and eventually paint them.

Here is the first of the marauders built from the Under Fire Miniatures Rhodesian SAS (with Empress wooly hat heads).

The uniform is a base coat of PSC British Khaki with Citadel Castellan Green, Citadel Dryad Bark and Citadel Zandri Dust. This was then washed with Citadel Athonian Camoshade.

They are going to be lightly armed troops with mixed weapons.

Now to finish the other three.

Here is the full set of four Marauders.

As mentioned before, they are four Under Fire Miniatures Rhodesian SAS modified using Empress Miniatures wooly hat heads.

Whatever nationality they started out as, they have boosted their firepower with two Soviet RPD drum fed LMGs.

Empress Soviet dismounted AFV crew  from their Chechnya range.

With an Empress T90 (not strictly speaking a valid Twilight 2000 vehicle I would say it is a T74 - improved T72).

Just in case you thought the World had ended two decades later than expected...

Empress 28mm HMMWV in survivor mode, just ready to whisk you away from the collapsing US forces on the Eastern Front.

So this HMMWV is heavily loaded with all the teams' equipment.

Two vehicles in a year, my progress improves...
Except this is not finished yet.

Empress T55 tank - nearly finished.

It needs the restraining straps for the fuel drums and the unditching beam (peer carefully and you might spot the rod that will hold the latter in place).

Plus an improvement in the weather to allow spray painting.
