They look fine as a base but the painting is rather crude. I think the drybrush straight over the black undercoat makes them a bit too dark (even the white shirt has black shading). I think it would look better if you basecoated all the parts first and then drybrushed them in a lighter colour. That way the black won't shine through and they will look less grubby, while taking only a little extra time. Also, when glueing printed paper signs take care not to get them too wet, or in the case of written signs write with stuff that doesn't dissolve in water (permanent marker or just regular paint).
