Re: Whitechapel Horror! UD 26/03 - parsonage progress

Thanks all.

I’ve been slowly making progress. The walls around the church windows took a fair deal of tidying up but I’ve made enough progress with them now to start adding the parsonage.

It transpired that the 30cm sq base wasn’t big enough to accommodate the buildings and gamer  hands, so I’ve rotated the church and added a  7.5 cm  fillet to replace what would have been a road.

I’m also wondering if I should add a dormer to the rectory roof.

I’m going to double width the road to far right, to include a tramline. I have plans for a scratchbuilt tram.

That works better I think and a dormer would be a good addition. It could have an ornate gable; very Victorian  8)

For the ornate gable, you could cut up a doily & stick it to a thin bit
of clear plastic, then stick that in place.

Excellent work!  I would go for the gable as well - easy to say as it's not my money :)

Thanks all but I decided to forgo the ornate gable so as not to distract from the church (though I did add a decorative trim to the front).

I’ve reached a point where I am going to pause for a little while and so what follows is 30 images of where I’m at. Only the one tile is finished (the slaughterhouse) with the rest still requiring gap filling, roof tiling, flagstone engraving and painting. I also have three parts yet to organise, a terrace facade of Georgian houses, a leanto workshop and the tramway with tram. And that’ll be my table filled!

So, starting at the municipal cemetery, looking across what will be the tramway to the slaughterhouse:

The parts yet to be procured:

Front of the police station:

The police station yard with the pub next door:

Along High Street:

Slaughterhouse yard:

Urban density:

The pub sign boards are from the GW Laketown House sets:

View along a residential cul de sac with water fountain at the end:

And a similar cul de sac:

Shop with the church across the road:

Both residential cul de sacs comprising 13 homes:

Front of the houses - gaps will need filling:

Looking down High Street from the warehouse gates:

The reverse view:

Rear of the second pub:

Showing also a shop yard, a workshop and the side of the parsonage:

More urban density:

The warehouses showing the hoists from the GW Laketown House sets:

Pub number 2 next door to the parsonage:

The parsonage:

And the church:

All of the buildings are accessible; the interiors of the facade of houses:

Interior of warehouse:
