Excellent stuff as always, I quite like the work you're putting into the fatigue markers. It's a joy to see the projects which are obviously a real labour of love, and I feel your Black Order falls into that category. Added with your graphical skills which of course has them awesomely presented. It gives the army a lot of character, especially when you manage to make use of them between various different rules.

How big are those fatigue marker bases? I felt that -a lot- of fatigue markers were put out during my few times of playing saga so far. How many do you think you'll end up needing?

Great work as usual.  Where are the Rangers from?  Old GW?

Cheers. Yep, they're just the old Rangers of Middle-Earth set from GW.

Thanks mate, always a pleasure to hear you're enjoying the log. Yes, after a recent game of SAGA it turns out I'll definitely need about 5 more of the fatigue markers. :) They're on 25mm rounds, which is a little big, but equally, difficult to misso n the tabletop.

Another model ready for painting - this will be February's submission for Heerschau, as I have 6(!) days to fully paint something. In this case, a Priest who will support the Order's warriors in their battles against the undead. I went with a slightly classic look for this guy as if he's mid-sermon - hopefully the use of the Frostgrave Wizard hands conveys that. I originally had the idea for this guy based purely on the head from the Victrix Dacians set, which just oozes character and presence.

Great looking priest character. Looking forward to seeing him painted up and spurring on the troops.

Thanks.

I haven't really slept since late February but managed to get the Priest painted up. Hobby time feels very spurious given current events but any chance to step away from work is probably good at the minute.

Wonderful work, I can almost hear his oration - "I do not like them here or there, I do not like them anywhere. I do not like green eggs and ham, I will not eat them Sam-I-Am!"

Would you eat them in a cave?
Would you eat them with a glaive?

 lol

I will not eat them on my Watch,
I will not eat them off your crotch.
I will not eat them on the Wall,
I do not like them not at all!

You guys...  lol

In an effort to bridge universes, I made a unit of 8 Turcopoles for Age of Crusades which can double as Steppe Nomads in Age of Vikings, mounted Warriors for Pagan Peoples or a Horde unit of mounted Warriors with composite bows in Age of Magic.

Hopefully the mix kind of works - came out a little more fantasy barbarian than I intended but with a muted colour scheme the unit should hopefully 'feel' appropriate. What do you think?

I really wasn't happy how fantasy these guys looked, and on balance, I think the feedback I got indicating that they're very fantastical was bang on. So I went back to the drawing board with them and repurposed them using Victrix Dacians and Celtic bits as well as more Fireforge Mongol parts and Oathmark Revenant shields.

What do you guys think? I'm hoping they could pass for eastern European cavalry (Bulgar etc) at a glance, as well as fit a fantasy force.

To be honest, I like the former ones more (that doesnt mean, that I dont like these). But if your goal was to make them look less fantasy-, and more historical-like, you achieved it.

Thanks mate. I know what you mean - the old ones had a bit more fantasy charm to them, but in the end I think they did feel too much like Conan the Barbarian on a horse.

Still, glad the goal of the rework was achieved. Hopefully I won't get too many complaints from the historical crowd ;)

Yes, thats the reason, why I liked them that much :)!

The only thing is a bit off for me is (if I take my non-fantasy googles on), is that axe: it looks too big for using it on horseback. But there are certainly still some buttons and stirrups, wich arent 100% historical correct :).

They look suitably wild and woolly, just the part.

They look great, both sets. What was the base cavalry box you used as I don’t recognise them? Persians?
