Would the PIAT even arm at that close a range?

The PIAT was essentially a large, hollow charge, spigot mortar bomb with an impact fuse. It was meant to be carried cocked in action but minus a round in the muzzle tray until such time as it was fired. . No minimum arming distance AFAIK. Probably for the best, as it's effective range against armour was 100 metres or less.

Both Major Cain at Arnhem and Fusilier Frank Jefferson in Italy recorded hits at 20 yards or less.  Private Ernest 'Smokey' Smith of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada bagged a Panther at about 30 feet in Italy. All three were VC winners, Smith being the last surviving Canadian VC winner. His VC citation is well worth a read.

Had the bloke, bit of wall and Stug out on workspace. Just a bit of fun, had to be done.

Could be a tad too close for comfort...
That said; wasn't really intending it to be representative of any particular scale or distance, just a bit of fun.
The whole lot is literally  plonked on a piece of velvet covered foam the size of a kids shoe box, somewhat precariously plonked at that.
Any further back and the Stug would fall off the back..!
