the D&D collectibles for swarms...

There are two swarms in this collection - the rot scarabs should work.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but are you serious? Isn't that like going to an expensive French 5 star restaurant & ordering a Hot dog with chili on top?

I honestly have no idea what you mean here, lad. If swarms are what you are looking for, these are some of the more useful ones out there.

No, swarms aren't really suitable for Fallout miniatures. The Ants, Roaches and Scorpions in Fallout are huge; the ants and roaches are 2-3 feet long and the scorpions are ~6 feet for the normal ones and ~9 for the Giant versions. So these tiny swarms aren't really suitable for Fallout gaming ;)

I think Pardulon have some nice retro-tech items for Fallout:

Hope this a helpful link! :D

Too big to squish with a boot.

My character doesn't think so...

 :)
Fair enough, let me rephrase, Too big to squish the whole body with your foot.  As you can see in the screenshots, lets assume your character wears a US shoe size of 8 (so 8 inches) the rad roach is easily 3 time that in total length so 24 inches so 2 feet.

Best Radscorpion ever: http://www.pardulon.com/catalog/hobby.php?param=m007&language=en

For the mole rats, Pardulons chicken seals may be a good start: http://www.pardulon.com/catalog/hobby.php?param=m009&language=en

But im thinking i may use GW plastic kits and use a rat ogre head with a dire wolf body.

The infernal ambassador from Hell Dorado makes for a brilliant adolescent deathclaw: http://www.helldorado.fr/factions/les-demons/index.php but he isnt the right scale for a fully grown one

the best giant ants i have ever seen were the Steve jackson Atomic horror ones. but they were pricey for what they were (they did come with a free mad scientist though)

out of interest, what did you use for your Yao Guai ?

I've just been collecting some pieces for a recent Zombie game which might help (painted by Dags and Mark Dixon):

Eureka Office set (available from Fighting 15s in the UK)

Copplestone Future Tech Lab

Copplestone Filing cabinets

Copplestone Med Examination (and the Future Lab table)

Pardulon examination table (not sure if Jens ever released this widely?)

Various Pardulon Industrial grilles and pipes (some Ainsty air-con units too)

Various barriers and street signs from a toy town set (although not sure if the paint will stay on!)

I'll take some photos of my lab set-up (completely inspired by Zaferelli's Asylum game from a year or so ago) to show some of them in use.

My full modern gallery is here:

That's some great looking terrain! Glad I'm not currently running any modern or future campaigns or else I'd have to buy a bunch of them!

I have that toy town set as well. Went over the more 'open' spots of the plastic with fine sandpaper to help with keeping the paint on. Didn't keep the stickers that were on them though. That set also comes with a few pallets of drums, sand (probably cement mix) bags, and one with some crates on it too.
Everything is better with lizardmen.

How about the fire beetle swarm by other world miniatures, they would make great Rad roaches

see?

you could smooth the shells with green stuff.

I took a Reaper miniatures Moor Hound http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Dark%20Heaven%20Legends/sku-up/02817
Then with a little round of the ears and some green-stuff in the fur to make it patchy I felt I created a pretty good Yao Guai.

those are nice, I ended up going cheap for my rad-roaches, I grabbed a few of the Blood Scarabs from WotCs latest D&D Minis Release for a couple of bucks.
