Morinis Duplex doesn't answer
« on: June 25, 2009, 08:25:48 AM »
We had a game of Space Chronicles yesterday

The capitalist research center Morinis Duplex sent out an emergency signal and capitalist forces headed by the Zentomax Corp were dispatched to investigate.

THe Zentomax landed in their APC in the midst of the facility and sent out Orgus robots and security personnel.

The Orgus found evidence of a chemical substance on the grounds of the main lab.

Suddenly Neosoviet Communist were upon the Zentomax troopers. This heavy robot nailed two in an instant with it's heavy machine gunnery.

Trapped the Zentomax troopers are reduced to bloody mist

The communist scum advance all over the premises. Sneaking up like rats.

The APC hovers round and points it's rotary machine gun at the wall and makes a communist into an ex-communist. Unfortunately and unknown to the APC crew this commie had just picked up vital research data in the form of a laptop. Needless to say the laptop got it too...

Zentomax troopers firefight with the rebellious communists.

The missing dr. Geroynimuss appears! Staring wild eyed and frightening at the communists he finally succumbs to their propaganda and flees with them!

The Zentomax troopers had less luck in their findings... They found what made dr. G so wild eyed and jumpy. A nice little hungry FAILED EXPERIMENT! (or... perhaps a successful one - the Zentomax security personnel just didn't see it that way)

As if that wasn't enough - the local TV-network news crew showed up... Needless to say they were not to find out what was going on! The commies wanted of course to show them everything and use them for even more propaganda.

Squad A tries to act decoy for the news crew

Apparently it works. An immense stream of questions about everything from what their favourite zodiac is to what they ate this morning start raining down on the poor Zentomax.

And just as if that wasn't enough the Inner City Police (ICP) finally responds to the burglar alarm that's been ringing the last two hours.

The Zentomax personnel loses it and start firing at the police - the order were NO EYE WITNESSES.

The Orgus robot leader must have a short circuit and starts acting his "riot programme" - only as a rioter and not riot stopper..

With their powerful fists they succeed in tipping the car over and ripping the motor apart - along with the crew!

The facility at the end

The game had some victory conditions. It's all summed up in this:

The commies got away with the dr. and the Zentomax made an arse of themselves.  ;)

Awesome! Terrific photos and I love the variety in miniatures you used. Good stuff. Where is that awesome alien from? It looks really menacing.

Great battle report, and I have to say I like your paintjob on that many-armed bug more than the one on Hydra's website! Any chance of a closeup?

Where are the buildings from? They're great too.

All the buildings are homegrown. Some are made by a design from Matakishi and some are made using cardboard and Necromunda bulkheadsprues.

I shall see if I can whip Torben into posting a pic of his lovely critter.

Yeah, it was definately a fun time - even for me, playing the part of GM and controlling all the NPC's.

I could scrounge up only a single picture of the star of this battle report:

I would've uploaded and shared the scenario alongside with this battlereport, but it's in danish so I doubt it would be of much use on an international forum. Oh well, I might get around to translate the thing eventually.

Thanks to Thorbjørn and Henrik for testing this homebrew game! Let's see what happens in the next installment.. after all, the Killer did survive... ;)

Which models? Well.. ehm.. It's quite a diverse smattering of figures from my collection really.

Let's see. The two helpers along the Copplestone News crew was actually part of the pack "NEWS CREW AND MINDERS" from Copplestone.

The Cops, however, consists of old VOID (now sold from Scotia-Grendel, i hope) figures; VASA Suppressors - alongside a Junker Enforcer (Policeofficer in Trenchcoat) again available from Scotia Grendel.

It was great to have all these figures on the table :D

Em-4 ones are just as nice and £1.25 a pop, I've got those, with a heresy sci-fi guy as the chopper pilot for my zed games.

Tasty!

Very nice report! Great use of models and terrain. I don't know "Space Chronicles" though, care to elaborate? Lovely alien as well, I thought it was a Tyranid model at first 8)

Skirmish game with roots in our gaming group, penned by Phoenikuz. Currently only available in Danish.

Yeah - I first thought it was a Starship Troopers arachnid. hehe.
