There are some good Wendigo illustrations online, which might also be useful in getting the look.

There are some good Wendigo illustrations online, which might also be useful in getting the look.

When I make mythological beasts for this project I'm trying to stick to the contemporary depictions of any given monster.

In this case I only have got this:

Yeah, that's the illustration I thought you were working off, which doesn't give you a huge amount of detail! A wendigo illustration might give you some better anatomical guidelines, onto which you can sculpt the unique details of that fella. Looks very heraldic doesn't it?

Yes it's very heraldic. Despite my previous reservations to use wendigo depictions as a reference material - now I'm using it quite extensively :).
