I ordered three buildings off eBay.
When they came they were nice, just a tad over scale for 28mm.
Never mind, I can use them with some 40mm Toy soldiers I've been saving as a mini project.
While I was still pondering this I saw some cheap acrylic paint pens in B&M bargains (UK Cheap store)
Splashed out the exorbitant £4 for the set & gave it a go.  The colours are bright & cover well, but the
pen points soon disappear. I will, in fact I have, used them again, but will keep them for fantasy & Sci-Fi scenery.

They might be cheap pens but the effect looks great on those buildings.
Painted:  2025:539; 2024: 410; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

Thank you Syrinx0, I was going for a Toy Soldier look. Hopefully it
will match the soldiers when I do them.

Based up a few bits. I can always use a bit more ruined stuff for cover / plot points etc.

An update on my Barsoom (VSF Mars) project.
First up some Green martians. Old Hinchcliffe castings that are...slowly...coming back onto the market.
While not as nice, or as tall as modern versions, they are a whole lot cheaper. They do also have a certain
touch of nostalgia for me. :)

Not originally part of Barsoom, but they are nice, & as 25mm fit in with the Hinchcliffe stuff.
Gets then of the workbench too.  :)

Recent terrain looking excellent as usual- I would happily use those for 28mm as well as your 40mm scale. Martian models look great! I like the basing you do, and those photo backgrounds really help too.

A long time ago, I mean a loooooooong time ago I painted a few figures (they were called 25mm then) for an ACW skirmish.
People got bored with ACW & I started acquiring their skirmish figures. When there became too many singly based soldiers, for a 2 hour game,
I toyed with sabot bases. A couple of years later I got fed up with loading & unloading the sabot bases for games.  I bit the bullet & rebased
the troops up on 40mm x 40mm bases. Along came Rebels & Patriots, a set of rules I really like. I kept adding troops, well they were a bargain!
Especially as I got a lot in exchange for building their previous owner some scenery.

I thought I had three Union & three Confederate 'forces'. Maybe I could incorporate the 'new' figures into options for them.
This I had been promising myself for a over a year. Last month I finally got everything out & had a good look.
Shock!!!!  :o :o :o Not one of my 'forces' equalled the standard 24pts for Rebels & Patriots.
Back to the drawing board. Unpainted / Part painted / Damaged / very old shirmish figures...all were looked at.
A month of work & I am nearly there.
In stout Really Useful Boxes, each with its own record sheet, named officer & casualty markers, FIVE Union & FIVE Confederate 24pt forces.  :)

This is NOT the end of  my meddling in the ACW.
Thanks to my mate James (aka Flatpack) I have the start of a unit of Rush's Lancers.
Somewhere in the Lead Mountain are two six horse limbers, but I am finishred for the present. Surplus troops are earmarked:-
Two forces, One Union & One Confederate,  are going to Sam (aka Donkeymilkman) to start him down this madness road.
A file box of part & unpainted figures are going to James (aka Voidkafan) to pick through & survivors to go to the great eBay in the sky.

Pictures (proof) to follow.  :D
