The promised pictures of 15mm Sci-Fi dropships.
Purchased at Hammerhead (pre Lock-down)
They are resin miscasts. WW1 French tanks.
They were in the bargain bucket (sans tracks,
wheels & other details) so set me back 50p each.
The downward, breaking, thrusters were nozzle tops,
which, with a few things from my spare parts box of
interesting bits, completed my attempt at providing
a table entry means for my (yet to be painted or based)
15mm Sci-Fi troopers.
Oh, & to show my tendency/obsession with NOT throwing
things away. Their flight bases are from Britain's Detail range
ACW 54mm Cavalry. Those I based differently some 35 years
ago, but kept the die-cast bases 'Just in case'.

I would never have thought of this!  :o You have got the "drop" on me  lol

BUT where's the landing gear?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

James! You know that no self respecting DSC (Drop Ship Commander) deploys
landing gear till the last moment. Deploy it early & it just gets shot off! Then you
can't get off from the LZ (Landing Zone) & if you can't get off how can you possibly
use Garry's favourite tactic, 'Nuke em from orbit!!!!'.

If you had told me those were something 40K related, I would have bought it hook line and sinker. WWI tanks... who would have thought! That was a rather nice bit of inspiration.

Thanks CookAndrewB.
I always thought 40k (Human) vehicles took their inspiration from WW1.
Eldar & Tau do look Sci-Fi IMO, but not Le Man Russ  et al.

Due to generous donations from our own Digits, a splurge of activity.
First off, oil drums.
These have been filed, stuck to bases, bases textured & undercoated (rust).
Next stage is to add some paint & flock. Then they will give (some) protection
against stray RPGs in our modern games.

In that sentence, you used two words that put the fear of god into me.
Digits and RPG.

That combination is not always scary in my view.
Take for example the sentence, 'Aim that RPG at Digits!'

Now now...be nice!

Glad to see you are straight into them....but if you want to make them RPG proof....I’d be inclined to add a large bank of spoil like I did with mine.

Had a rummage through the aquarium bits you gave me...plenty of jungle vegetation to be made, cheers.

Enjoy the aquarium bits. May I suggest that you use the weirder bits
to make some Sci-Fi scenery. That would go well with your team of Auditors.

Some more bits from Digits.
Sci-fi boxes & crates. Stuck onto square bases as a kind of pallet.
Useful to provide cover & break line of sight in Galactic Heroes games.

They came out great Pete.  I’m just concerned about the soft toy strapped to their bumper!

Sadistic buggers!
