It has arrived...
« on: July 08, 2009, 06:24:56 PM »
"It has only been two days since I prayed to the Elder Gods. The ceremony was short and it left a tingling feeling in my body that did not go away. Now I had to wait...the waiting was terrible. For two days I could not eat, could not drink and could not sleep. The tension was immense and I could feel my heart pounce in my chest. How long will this agony last...when will salvation come? Insanity crept in my head and my humanity started to leave me. This all climaxed last night. The sky was bright and I could see the stars clearly. They were unnaturally aligned and it felt as if my mind was playing tricks on me. I knew something was bound to happen and the waiting became even worse.
This day it arrived. With a loud crash it landed on my doorstep and then my sanity finally left me for good. My body trembling from utter fear, I slowly descended the cold steps. I felt as if I descended into hell itself. And then I saw it. I think I must have shouted out loud, but I cannot be sure. I crawled on all fours until I reached it. For what seemed an eternity, I lay before it, not daring to move away or closer. Slowly I reached out with my trembling fingers unto the cyclopean object. When my fingers touched its surface I felt shivers all over my body. This was what I wanted, so why am I so scared? I dragged the object towards me. It felt as if I was dragging the blocks from R'lyeh itself towards me. It cost me my remaining strength to tear open the outer shell. It sounded as if it screamed and howled as I tore it open. I hardly dared to look at its contents. But then my curiosity won me over and I slowly opened my eyes. Its brown leathery surface was both compelling and dreadful at the same time. Why? Why must I do this? As I opened its dreaded pages, I was doomed forever..."

Woohoo! I came home from work and Mike's book was already there...two days from Canada to Holland. A new record 8)
The book looks absolutely stunning. The layout is perfect and the text is very easy to read. I really like how the book feels and the atmosphere it breathes. Fantastic work! The Lovecraft miniature is also very, very nice and he will make an excellent birthday gift for a friend of mine who is also deep into Lovecraftian literature.
Thanks for the quick shipping guys! Can't wait to try this one out.

...

Must be because of Canada's special relationship with Holland.  It helps to have a royal princess born in your country!  ;)

She may be a little out of your league...Princess Margriet Francisca of the Netherlands, born in Ottawa in 1943, is ninth in line to the Dutch throne.  Besides, she's married with four sons!

I have received my Strange Aeons book and limited edition HPL mini...
all the way out here in intergalactic space
Those hyperspace shipping lanes are great...I think they "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs"
Wait...Didn't they just refer to a speed as a unit of distance? (Thank-you Family Guy!  :D)

That is lightning fast.  I've been shipping all over the place for years in trades and such, and that;'s the fastest I've seen.

Glad you like it.

I knew Mal. was eager to get the dreaded tome and so I sacrificed a lamb to the postal service gods so that it would arrive faster.

...well...o.k., it wasen't a lamb exactly...it was a veal cutlet and I didn't kill it...but I did eat it! ;D

seriously thou...that is crazy fast!

Apparently, I've made a dolt of myself! It did show up in two days. But I wasn't told it had been set on my other workbench. Things hide in plain sight far too easily with my eyes o_o .

But the cultist blasting is dead-fun! lol
