I agree, looks pretty, but how long do the blooms last?  I have to do some small scrub trees ( I have eight small wire armatures I can use)  - may be an idea…

Meanwhile, first latex going on the tree…..

I have seen others use Latex Rubber in a similar fashion my worry would be its longevity - does this rubber not disintegrate after a few years?

Not noticed that yet mate….I need to put another layer on it.   I don’t jumble them up in storage so that protects them a bit I suppose., plus there will be a few layers of paint on it.

Seeing the bottle of WS Latex Rubber reminded me of an experiment I did this week.
I recently bought some sea foam to add as branches on trees and the best way of protecting them seems to be dipping them in liquid latex (Geek Gaming video). Every type I looked at was costly but my local game store had had the WS Latex Rubber on sale so I bought that.

As you show, it is quite thick but I poured some into a tub, added water, mixed it up and dipped some sea foam. It works but requires around 3 coats before one can handle it without breakage.

Hmmm…good idea.   This bottle is about five years old and I think thicker than it should be….

The flowers actually remain a fair while, as I remember (I've been living away from my native country for many years).
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Hmmm..worth thinking about perhaps.

Meanwhile, a pair of giraffes….one Northstar, and it’s young / sibling being Ral Partha.

Great job on the giraffes David.
Did you paint the 'bricks' over a 'mortar' base coat, OR
paint the 'mortar' over a 'brick' base coat?

Definitely brick over mortar as you need to lighten the mortar the lower you go down the animal first….the patches are easy to do…if a little laborious.   Plus as you need to vary the sizes in the right places, it’s easier to paint on patches.

Cheers guys.
