Thanks!

So I just ordered the Pulp Alley Starter set……it’s about time I actually used some of this stuff in a game or two.   This archeological aspect lends itself nicely I think…….i may have to paint a few bad guys to bolster the story….

Pulp Alley is popular but if it ends up not 'floating your boat' then Fistful of Lead might be a good option.  That is my go to for such stuff, the Bigger Battles version though.  Can still use it for smaller scale actions.  You need options to ensure your wonderful collection hosts fun games.  Don't let rules alone put you off.  There are lots out there.

Indeed….can try all sorts.

So it arrived pdq…..going to have a read and try it out me thinks.    A few useful figures in the box too, including another Indiana wannabe.

Painted up a few tents last night too from Debris of War.  Useful for a range of games me thinks.

This weekends job is to paint a few more Pulp minis…including the Mr Chicken staff….

The expressions on those lion's faces suggests to me you need to trowel around in fantasy ranges to find some "lion men" to 'come to life' in your games and terrorize the Archaeologists and whoever else might be close at hand.

Did a quick check and found this, a bit pricey but sort of cool: https://www.reapermini.com/miniatures/lion%20man

If you have never played, you are in for a treat.  Pulp alley is one of our go to systems as it always tells a story.  It really is a load of fun.

I agree, and it is incredibly versatile.  We use it as prescribed but I have seen it used for western gunfights and a 17thC game Cthulhu/monster hunter game.

That has potential for a future sequel where the cult devotees come to London/New York to retrieve the artefacts taken from their temple and exact revenge...

I use both Pulp Alley and Fistful of Lead regularly.  All depends on what sort of game you want.  The former is more geared toward rpg, while the latter is more straight skirmish.  Both are great games.

To be fair I’ve played Fistful of Lead a few times with Flatpack and HasBeen et al…… often fun games.   I’ve also used it to play pirates.     I just wanted something a tad different if I’m honest and so far Pulp Alley is looking good….. just need a little clear air to have a go.

Go for it David, it is an enjoyable game.
As with all games, don't play with any rules lawyers. They will suck the fun from it. :?

I've noticed when playing Pulp Alley with Elder Son, we often find ourselves making decisions or waiving certain rules because the story is getting interesting and we don't want to spoil it. Are we alone in this?
