Why would you put such a work of art in a drawer?  ;-)  (Just kidding - it must be a British expression!)

Fantastic work.  You've convinced me to get some and try it out.  I am not sure if several frigates and brigs (in one $32 pack) make more sense or if one big masterpiece ship, like yours, makes more sense, for a first one of these tall ships.

The rigging is intimidating.

Hi Erik!

When I was young (boy that was a long time ago) I used to put all those Revell sailing ships together. I loved doing those models. So... at least I have some experience with the age of sail and therefore fairly confident I could do okay with this monster.

If you are just giving it a try for the first time, I would go for the frigates and brigs. Lots of models for a great price and gives you plenty to practice on.

Just another tip on doing the rigging with the thread.

Attach one side and then take the thread to the other side you want to attach it to. Now paint the thread up to the point of attachment. This will help to give it much more rigidity. Once it is dried, attach.

 ;)

I can't wait to try this.  French fleet... as my wife is Algerian Berber, like the Pirates of the Barbary Coast.

Talk about a love-hate relationship with France....
