EXTRAPOLATE! EXTRAPOLATE! Dalek size query!

Can anyone give me a rough idea using either how big Black Tree Daleks are? Preferable using a ruler (or a 'standard' 28mm human miniature). Strange request I know but I'm about to start work on a Dalek base and have only just sent in an order to Black Tree. I want to get started asap (while the 'muse' is with me!) but I understand that Black Tree are not exactly the quickest when it comes to delivery!

That's what I was afraid of! Might just leave them be.

On removing the bases, I used clippers to snip off round the edge, then a knife to slice off what was left - wasn't exactly quick though...

Cheers, also in my defense, I'd painted 12 Gold and one Black Daleks from BTD, then stumbled over some Micro Universe Daleks so gave them more interesting colours, that Red one and this Green one.



The other Dalek I have came from a board game missing most of it's parts in a charity shop, he's a bit bigger than even the MU one:

Stanley Knife for me too, simplest way seemed to be to cut down first, trimming the base off and leaving the height directly under the model, then trim under the model leaving a little bit of base so the Dalek isn't sinking in the sand on the 2p base.

One of those "razor saws" you can buy in modelling kits would do the job better than a craft knife, at least for the initial cut prior to any trimming and cleaning up. Less pressure needed to slice through the plastic and therefore less risk to fingers. Always a good thing

The bases are soft, rubbery plastic, a share knife cuts through them like a hot knife through butter.

I only cut myself once or twice. 

I should sort myself a razor saw sometime, they look like a less destructive option than clippers and a junior hacksaw.

I must admit, I only cut myself once and that was when I was getting a bit cocky and not paying as much attention... it was a bleeder though...
