[Rules query] Turn Sequence
« on: 04 April 2010, 11:42:55 AM »
Hi all,

Recently purchased T&T and haven't played it yet but i'm running through the rules on a learning exercise at the moment.

I have a query on the turn sequence.

Firstly, i understand T&T is designed for a few units per side but wie'll likely be using 10-15 units per side.

So...

1.  Put all unit cards in the sequence you want them to act for the turn.

2.  Choose an oder card.

3.  Turn over unit and order card.

4.  Enact order

My question is, say 3-4 units in, i'm definately going to forget which unit is due to act next and therefore which order i'll need to give it.

Is the order card chosen BEFORE the unit card is turned over (therefore requiring me to guess which unit is next),

OR

Is the order card chosen AFTER the unit card is turned over??

Hi Luddite,

you choose the order card before the unit card is turned over.

The order card is also only valid for the topmost unitcard and you can use the same order card for another unit card in the turnpile.

If you forgot which unit is next you can check the turn pile but do not reorganize the turn pile. Then you place the next order card.

Turn over unit card and order card when all other players are ready.

Hi Björn,

Cheers for the reply.

And thanks, the key part was about wether you can check the unit cards.

Excellent stuff.

I'm sure you can check the unit cards before you place an order - we always play this way.  It would be silly if you couldn't - it's not a memory game!

10-15 units is big for a T&T game IMHO, but playable with multiple players or if you have several hours to play.  You might want to try your first game with 4-6 units a side to make things easier.  I am thinking of using T&T for some bigger games in the near future with a few rules tweaks to make it play quicker.
